Soaked it in the stream before a steep climb and my pup definitely seemed less miserable at the summit—the fabric stayed damp for a solid hour. It’s lightweight enough that he forgets he’s wearing it, which is saying a lot for a dog who hates anything around his neck.

My trail buddy wore this for a three-hour hike and the soaked fabric really seemed to keep his panting down between water breaks. It cinches securely enough that he didn't shake it off even when we stopped for a dip. Handy little thing for summit days when the sun gets intense.

The cooling effect actually lasted through most of our hike, and the fabric stayed damp without dripping all over my car on the way home. My lab seemed noticeably more comfortable on the sunny ridge, and the bandana made for a great summit photo.
